Michael "Mike" A. Jones, 51, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away suddenly from this life on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born on February 12, 1961, in Hagerstown, Maryland, he was the son of Virginia Reeder and her husband, Leroy of Boonsboro, Maryland and the late Joseph Jones.
Mike attended the Boonsboro schools.
Mike worked for nearly twenty years as a trim carpenter for RPR Construction in Purcellville, Virginia.
He is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Carla (Deener) Jones of Sharpsburg; a daughter, Amber Jones and her boyfriend, Greg of Williamsport, Maryland; two sons, Mikey Jones and his wife, Blair of Boonsboro and Matthew Jones and his girlfriend, Kiersten of Sharpsburg; three sisters, Melodie Murray, Teresa Souders, and Charlette Jones, all of Hagerstown; two brothers, Joe Jones of Hagerstown and Mark Jones and his wife, Vanessa of Martinsburg, West Virginia; and six grandchildren, Emily Bowers, Macie, Joshua, and Jocelyn Kershner all of Williamsport and Addison and Mason Jones of Boonsboro. Mike is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. R. Thomas Fralin, Jr. will officiate. Final resting-place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at the funeral home. For the convenience of friends and family, the funeral home will be open after 12 noon on Wednesday.
