Michael James Campagnoli, 59, Frederick, Maryland died on Tuesday, June 13, 2017.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland on November 10, 1957, he was a long time resident of Frederick County. The beloved son of Elaine E. Campagnoli and the late Faust N. Campagnoli, he leaves behind 2 children, Michael James Campagnoli, II and Dakota Devon Campagnoli, as well as sister, Kathy Campagnoli and brother, Douglas Campagnoli and his wife Theresa. He was a Walkersville High School graduate who earned his AA from Frederick Community College, BA from McDaniel College, MA from the University of Maryland, College Park, and Doctorate studies at American University.

He had a highly successful career in the pharmaceutical industry with expertise in launching new start-up national and international pharmaceutical companies throughout the world. His extensive work included positions as Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at Acella Pharmaceuticals, based in Atlanta, Georgia; Executive Director of TWI Pharmaceuticals, based in Irvine, California; Executive Director of Trade Relations at Banner Life Sciences, based in Highpoint, North Carolina; President of RMD Consulting, working with pharmaceutical and medical companies such as: Senetek, Pharma Caribe, The Assessment Group and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Early in his career he was employed with MERCK, Smith Kline, Pfizer, CollaGenex and Rite Aid. He also worked as a dedicated Home and Hospital Teacher with Frederick County Public Schools teaching sick and disabled homebound students and was a member of the Frederick Chamber of Commerce due to his company Campagnoli, LLC importing products from various European countries for resale into the United States.

He devoted much time to leadership as a volunteer, including serving as the current President of the Frederick Arts Council, and prior was at large as head of the Council’s Development Committee. He also served as special liaison and committee head to the Frederick Festival of the Arts. He was Treasurer and Executive Board Member of the Friends of Meals on Wheels, Frederick County. He was a Court Appointed Special Advocate by the Frederick County Circuit Courts dedicated to helping abused and neglected children. He was also a member of the Tivoli Society of the Weinberg Center of the Arts, the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, the Frederick Historical Society, the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and the Order of the Good Samaritan at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Michael not only gave of his personal time but was also an enthusiastic philanthropist who regularly donated money to a variety of special causes including the United Way, the Mental Health Association, the Mission of Mercy, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Association.

He was a member of Holly Hills Country Club and loved golfing and playing tennis. He enjoyed traveling abroad, hiking, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson, working out, going to the beach, playing guitar and was an avid fan of the theater.

His attitude toward life was to always do one’s best to make the world a better place through volunteering and kindness to others. He had the attitude to "never, never, never give up." Memorial contributions may be given in his name to the Frederick Arts Council and the Mental Health Association.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 10-11AM where a memorial service will begin at 11AM. Pastor Mark Foucart will officiate.
