Merritt Dwight Willis

Mr. Merritt Dwight Willis, 53 of Monrovia, MD., died Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Karen Spriggs Willis.

Born March 7, 1956 in Frederick County, Maryland, he was the son of the late Herbert and Genevieve Hammond Willis.

Mr. Willis was employed, for more than 20 years, as a machine operator for Maryland Virginia Milk Producers. He enjoyed spending time with his
grandchildren and playing the lottery.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three children Merritt Willis, Jr, Chantel Willis both of Monrovia and Marquette Willis of Laurel, MD, two grandchildren Jordan Mullen and Erica Day of Monrovia, seven brothers Wayne Willis, Herbert Willis both of New Windsor, Shirley Willis of Laurel, Byron Willis of Randallstown, Harold Willis of Mt. Airy, Hammond Willis and Bernard Willis both of Frederick, two sisters Emily Dorm and Genevieve Willis both of Westminister. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by four brothers Emory, Jerome, Robert and Kenneth Willis.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Tuesday, May 5, from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9:00 p.m.

Services: Services and interment will be private.
