Mr. Melvin Edward "Skippy" Brown, 72, of Frederick, MD passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 26, 1942 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late William H. and Theresa Holland Brown.
Skippy was a graduate of Lincoln High School. He retired as machinist from Eastalco. After retirement he worked at Fort Detrick. He was a member of the Mountain City Lodge #382, Frederick, MD. He was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan.
He is survived by three sisters Carolyn Brown of Frederick, MD, Debbie Davis of Baltimore, MD, and Patricia Sumpter of Columbia, MD; four daughters; Denise Shaw and husband Jesse of Laurel, MD, Wanda Brown of Rockville, MD, Theresa Dupree of Montgomery Village, MD and Ashley Brown of Hagerstown, MD; five grandchildren; Korrine Dorsey, Keenan Dupree, Kiara Moten, Jaida Moten, Marquis Simmons; one great grandchild Sammie Leonard III, and two goddaughters Dolores Jackson and Gwen Smothers.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from 6-9PM where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6 at 11AM.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
