Melvin Angleberger

July 18, 1941 — January 17, 2020

Melvin Leroy Angleberger, 78, of Frederick, passed from this life on Friday, January 17, 2020 at Ballenger Creek Center in Frederick.

Born on July 18, 1941, in Frederick, he was the son of the late Charles and Florence (Bagent) Angleberger.

Mr. Angleberger was a truck driver for many years retiring from Genstar. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and he also enjoyed stock car racing.

He is survived by sisters, Mary Eckenrode of Walkersville, Karol Crummitt of Frederick, and Hilda Hanvey of Emmitsburg; many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Angleberger was preceded in death by his brothers and sister, Charles "Sonny" Angleberger, Jr., Geraldine Morgan, John Angleberger, James Angleberger, Richard Angleberger and Judy Bedor.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.

Final resting place ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Union Chapel Lutheran Church Cemetery in  Libertytown, MD.

Memorial donations may be made to the Yellow Ribbon Fund, 7101 Wisconsin Avenue, #800, Bethesda, MD 20814,  one of the first veteran service organizations to recognize the importance of keeping the family together during the critical recuperation phase.
