Melissa Brois

Melissa J. Brois, 60 of Mt. Airy, Md passed away peacefully with her family by her side Friday, February 15th, 2019 after an unexpected two week battle from a ruptured brain aneurysm. She was born July 25, 1958, in Denver, Co. daughter of the late John P. and Anita Woods (Case).

For most of her career, Melissa was involved in the Real Estate industry, working as a Mortgage Banker, Realtor, and Marketing professional. She had a love for gardening and her gentle nature allowed her plants to thrive. She also enjoyed decorating and her creative eye made everything she touched more beautiful. She had a passion for helping others in need, and found deep and genuine pleasure in giving. She was drawn to the serenity of the ocean and loved spending time there with her family. She is remembered as a loving and caring Mother, Wife, Sister, and supportive friend.

Melissa is survived by her husband James M. Brois of Mt. Airy MD.; her two daughters Katherine A. Tuohy and her husband Kevin, of Ka’a’awa, HI., Jacqueline A. Anderson and her husband Sebastian of Dover, DE.; her brothers Steven P. Woods and his wife Raylene of Adamstown, MD., and Mark T. Woods and his wife, Pamela, of Monrovia, MD., and her sister Pamela J. Altemus and her husband, Charles, of North Potomac, MD.

The celebration of her life will take place on Saturday, February 23, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy. The family will receive friends and loved ones at 1 o’clock with the service starting at 2 p.m. reception to follow at the family home.
