Medza Smith

Medza A. (Jones) Smith, 88, a resident of Somerford Assisted Living in Hagerstown, Maryland and formerly of Rohrersville, Maryland, passed away peacefully from this life on Friday, February 24, 2012.
Born on April 14, 1923 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Matilda (Kersher) Jones. Medza was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Melvin Smith.
Medza worked as an office clerk for Pantry Pride in the Washington D.C. area for many years.
She is survived by a step-son, Romarro Smith of Baltimore, Maryland; two step-granddaughters, Robin Fleming of Hagerstown and Tracy Dibble of Damascus, Maryland; two step great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jane Dibble. She is also survived by one nephew, Butch.
In addition to her parents and husband, Medza was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley A. Wade.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Pleasant View Cemetery in Rohrersville. The Rev. John W. Schildt will officiate.
