May Carty

May Elizabeth (nee Clemson) Carty, 94, died on June 8, 2017 of pneumonia at Bellingham Senior Living in West Chester, PA.  She was the devoted wife of the late Carl Franklin Carty.
Born November 6, 1922 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mabel Shook and J. Walter Clemson.
She was the beloved mother of Patricia, also of West Chester. Part of a large extended family, she is survived by only one sibling, Mildred (Dolly) Ramsburg Burch of Raleigh NC as well as many nieces and nephews.
With her husband Carl and daughter Pat, they lived in some wonderful East Coast cities in Connecticut, New York, Georgia and finally Pennsylvania.  A great baker and a fantastic gardener, May was a loving servant to God.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, where funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
