Mr. Maurice Brooks II, 56 of Gerrardstown, WV formerly of Brunswick, MD passed away in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, January 5
th
2011.
He was the husband of Nancy L. Brooks, his wife of 37 years.
Born February 11, 1954 in Frederick MD, he was the son of the late Maurice Brooks and Shirley Ann Brooks Dubel.
Prior to his retirement he was employed by Sears as a Service Technician working in Frederick and Montgomery Counties for over 25 years.
Formerly a Boy Scout Leader and Lions club member in Brunswick Maryland, he also loved camping, wood working, trains, scuba diving, taking family vacations to Sarasota Fl and working with his hands.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son Mark Brooks III and his significant other Tammy M. Stephens of Gerrardstown, WV. Also surviving is one daughter Treasure and her husband Steven Little of Hagerstown, MD.
He also leaves behind a brother Mike Brooks of Hancock, MD.
Also surviving are his father in-law John O. Poole of Frederick MD; Brother in-laws Allen Poole with his wife Andi of Frederick MD; David Poole and his wife Dot of Inwood, WV. Sister In-laws Joan Hernandez with her husband Oscar of Falling Waters, WV; Jean Cullum with husband Robert of Frederick, MD and a large number of nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed Gabriella SantaMaria and Great God Son Kylar James- Robert Boone.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oposumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, January 9
th
from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 10
th
at 10:00 AM with Rev. Tom Fralin officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
