Matthew "M.W." Jones, III
August 15, 1928 — October 28, 2016
Mr. MatthewW. Jones, III, "M.W." 88, of Walkersville, MD passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Barbara Jones for 29 years.
Born August 15, 1928 in Berryville,,VA he was the son of the Mathew W. Jones, Jr. and Ethel Fishpaw Jones.
M.W.spent the majority of his life as a Dairy Farmer. After retirement he had his own vegetable stand at Olde Towne Jewelers under the clock tower in Walkersville. In his spare time he enjoyed collecting hub caps and raising chickens.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, son, M.W. (Bill) Jones, IV and wife Linda and their daughters Sarah and Christa, daughter Diane Jenkins and husband Bill and their daughter Kelly, daughter Linda Jones and daughter Betty Jane Dodson and husband Stanley and their children Larry Dodson and wife Brittany and Lisa Dodson and sons Greg Martinez and wife Rikki and their children Kylee, Jarod, Jude, Jeremy, Kyle and Gregory Martinez and son Anthony Martinez and his son Dylan, great-grandchildren Riley and Emory. He is also survived by his brother Harry Jones and wife Barbara. He will also be missed by his special friends Bill Gladhill and Roland Virts.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Peggy Ann Jones, great-grandson Zachary and sister Louise Jones McKay.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11AM. Pastor Gary Hubble will officiate.
Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
