Matthew “Matt” David Goetzinger, 19 of Boonsboro, MD, was lost tragically as a result of a motor vehicle accident on Friday, August 21, 2009.


Born November 23, 1989 in Jacksonville, Fl, he is the son of Thomas “Tom” and Cheryl Goetzinger, both of Keedysville, MD.


He was preceded in death by one brother, Bret A. Goetzinger and maternal grandfather, Ski Bosiacki.


Matt was well known as a loving and caring guy that held friends high and family on pillars. He will always be remembered for that awesome bright smile anytime you would see him. Matt attended Boonsboro High School and graduated with honors. Aside from the avid outdoorsman and fisherman, he was a car fanatic and excellent basketball player and all around athlete. Matt’s favorite team was the Florida Gators. He was planning on attending college and eventually become a Navy Fighter Pilot. He was a dedicated employee at Subway in Boonsboro, MD. Matt was known by most, but most of all, loved by all who knew him.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by 3 sisters, Shauna Goetzinger of Boonsboro, Ashley Goetzinger of Keedysville, and Britney Goetzinger also of Keedysville and one brother, Kyle Goetzinger of Keedysville; Maternal grandmother Patricia Bosiacki of Keedysville; Brother-in-laws; Aunts, Uncles and cousins; many friends including his girlfriend Megan Rowe and Grandma Pat.


Family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD 21713 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev Karen Erskine-Valentine officiating. Burial will follow at the Boonsboro Cemetery.


Memorial donations may be made to Boonsboro High School Athletic Department, 10 Campus Avenue, Boonsboro, Maryland, 21713.
