Matthew Holt, 39, of Frederick, MD passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017.
Born May 28, 1977 in Washington, D. C. he was the son of Frank and Irene Korson Holt. He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Catherine and Matthew Korson.
Matthew grew up in Montgomery Village, MD. From an early age Matt was musically inclined. He started playing guitar at age 5 and also sang in the elementary school chorus. Matt enjoyed listening to the Beatles, Bee-Gee’s, Metallica and more. If it was music, Matt would listen. Matt became the lead singer of the band “Northingface” at age 16. He lived his dream and toured the world with his band. They played several major festivals and historic venues. The band recorded 5 albums together. In addition to his love of music, Matt was a history buff, avid gamer, political enthusiast, and enjoyed playing competitive paint ball. Matt was a huge Washington Redskins and Washington Capitals fan and loved the New York Yankees. Matt had a soft spot for animals. Growing up, he had numerous cats but was particularly fond of his childhood cat named “Christophalous”.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother Chris and wife Dawn of Frederick, MD and niece, Olivia Holt. Matt also has numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins that he adored.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Monday, April 24, 2017 from 10-11AM where a funeral service will begin at 11AM. Nektarios Cottros will officiate.
