Mary Rebecca Kite Wade
March 5, 1921 — May 14, 2008
Mrs. Mary Rebecca Kite Wade, 87, of Frederick, passed into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of WWII veteran, Calvin C. Wade, her husband of 61 years.
Born on March 5, 1921, in Lexington Virginia, she grew up in Staunton, and was the daughter of the late Noah Rice Kite and Anna Rosa King Kite.
During her working career, Mrs. Wade was a member of the support staff at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington DC.
She enjoyed gardening, pottery, crocheting, and bowling. Mary was a fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons: William A Wade and wife Cynthia of Westminster, MD and Rodney C Wade and wife Patricia of Frederick, MD; 4 grandsons: Robert Wade, Ryan Wade, Rodney Wade, II and Sean Wade; 5 brothers and sisters: Irene Gregory, Eva Lee Kite, Rosa Wildensteiner, Rice Kite, and Oakey Kite; as well as several nieces, nephews.
Visitation: Following cremation, a celebration of Mary's life will be held from 4-6 PM on Sunday, May 18, at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick with a time for sharing beginning at 5:00 PM.
Services: Graveside services and inurnment will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 10, at Arlington National Cemetery, please meet at the Administration Building at 1:30 PM.
