Mrs. Mary Mae West, 93 of Frederick, died Friday, June 29, 2007 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clarence G. West who passed away on May 19, 2007.

Born in Sandy Hook, MD on May 18, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Charles Luther and Renos (Riley) Shumaker. A graduate of Brunswick High School, Mae was a retired department manager for F.W. Woolworth Five and Dime having worked for many years. She was a life long member of Sandy Hook United Methodist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed arts, crafts, and music.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Coblentz and husband Tom of Knoxville; a son, Jerry West and wife Diane Worthington of Portland, ME; five grandchildren, Bridget Doucette of Danvers, MA, Michelle Goulart of Glouchester, MA, John West of Saunderstown, RI, Eric West of Huntington, VT, and Jennifer Coblentz of Frederick and fiance Chris Rabel of Baltimore, she is also survived by nine great grandchildren.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, Mae was preceded in death by four sisters; Hazel Deaner, Inas Powers, Bessie Orndorff, and Bertha Powers; and four brothers, Clarence, Garland, James Lee, and Roy Shumaker.

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 3, at 1:00 p.m. at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1100 North Maple Avenue, Brunswick, MD with Rev. Douglas Fraim officiating. Burial will follow in Old Brownsville Church Cemetery with George Moss, Gary Smith, Norman Richardson, Bobby Harrison, Chris Rabel and Jerry West serving as pallbearers.
