Mary Lou Lofts

Mary Lou Lofts died April 13, 2008, after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of Richard S. Lofts. They would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 19, 2008.

Born January 11, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Shelton and Angelyn Mozley.

Mary Lou was a homemaker for many years before beginning her 20 year secretarial career with the Michigan public school system.

She and her husband retired to Fairfield Glade, TN where they enjoyed 17 years of golfing, boating and hosting their family and friends.

In 2003, they moved to Frederick to be closer to family.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are two children, Richard S. Lofts, Jr. and wife Loreen of Myersville and Sarah J. Banner and husband Larry of Clinton Township, MI. She is also survived by her sister Jean Ann Simpson of MA. Mary Lou will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren, Michael, Stephen and Gregory Lofts of Brooklyn, NY, Tracy Lofts of Dallas, TX, and Blake and Reed Banner of Clinton Township, MI, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela Lofts French.

She will be missed by her many friends and neighbors at the Glade and Country Meadows, and especially by her former daughter-in-law, Barbara Lofts.

Services: A celebration of Mary Lou's life will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Country Meadows, 5955 Quinn Orchard Road in Frederick, with Chaplain Thomas Huff officiating.
