Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Moberly, 89 of Walkersville died Monday. December 7, 2009 at the Glade Valley Nursing Home in Walkersville. She was the wife of the late Thomas Paul Moberly who died April 28, 1959.
Born May 10, 1920 in Frederick County she was the daughter of the late Irving Victor and Anna Mary Holter Bell.
She graduated from Middletown High School in 1937.
Mrs. Moberly retired as secretary of Walkersville High School in 1990. She was also a cashier for many of the WHS home basketball games.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Walkersville where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also one of the troop leaders of Walkersville Brownie Scouts in the 1950's.
Mrs. Moberly loved reading, especially about the History of England. She was an avid stamp collector.
Surviving are two daughters, Rosa May Rippeon and husband Donald B. of Littlestown, PA and Carol Ann Moberly of Walkersville, one granddaughter, Stephanie Ann Grossnickle of Union Bridge, one brother, Paul V. Bell and wife Elaine of Tuscan, Arizona, one sister, Harriet Hollenbaugh of Aurora, Colorado, several cousins, nieces and nephews and her good friends, Jerry and Glenda Trout and Laura Morris.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on
Thursday, December 10th from 2-4PM where there will be a small prayer service at 3:30 PM with Pastor Mark Foucart officiating.
Services: Grave Side services will be held at Mt. Olivet Cemetery on Friday, December 11th at 11:00 AM.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Walkersville Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 202, Walkersville, MD 21793.
