Mary D. {Staub} Horner

Mrs. Mary D. (Staub) Horner, 75 of Thurmont, died Friday, November 2, 2007 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the devoted wife of Donald M. Horner for 57 years.

Born in Thurmont on April 12, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Kathleen (Wollard) Staub. Mary was a hard worker and spent much of her career at Claire Frock Garment, later at Mountain Gate Restaurant. She was a housewife at the time of her death.

She was a long time member of the Evangelical Bible Church in Thurmont and was a member of the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union.

A loving wife, mother, and grandmother, besides her husband survivors include; three daughters, Suzie Harrison, Beverly Parks and husband David, all of Thurmont, Dottie Miller and husband Richard of Waynesboro, PA: one son, Donald L. Horner and wife Lori of Thurmont; nine grandchildren, Jonathan and Amy Harrison, Jeremy Parks and wife Lindsey, Jessica Troxell and husband Bernie, Amanda, Rebecca, and Sierra Horner, Jeffrey Miller and wife Sarah, and Lacy Reynolds and husband Aaron; five great grandchildren, Courtney Harrison, Gabriel, Joel and Nathan Miller and Travis Troxell; a sister, Cathy Sissy Ohler and friend Jake Hoffman of Thurmont; a brother Charles R. Porter and wife Linda of Sabillasville, and several nieces and nephews. She will be also missed by her beloved dog, Nash.

Visitation: Friends may call at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Sunday from 7 until 9 PM and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Services: Mrs. Horner will be lying in state on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Evangelical Bible Church where funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM with Rev's Samuel Garrett and Jeff Gehris, and Pastor Donna Sandbridge officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
