Mary "Dot" Coniff

Mary Dorothy (Dot) Coniff, 90 of Frederick Maryland died on Monday, January 28, 2019 at her home with family by her side.

She was born on August 6, 1928 in Cumberland Maryland the daughter of the late James and Hilda Morris. She grew up in Cumberland where she graduated from Girls Central High School. After graduation she worked as on Operator for the Phone Company.

In October 1952 she married the late James Coniff. They settled in Frederick Maryland where Dot continued to work for the Phone Company. After their son Pat was born she became a homemaker. In 1974 she was employed by Erly's Department Store and later would go to work for State Farm Insurance Companies in the Seaboard Regional Office in Frederick Maryland. She retired from State Farm in 1993.

Dot is survived by her beloved and devoted son, Pat Coniff of Frederick Maryland. She is also survived by her brother Frank Morris of Annapolis Maryland, sister-law Jean Morris of Cumberland Maryland, numerous nieces, nephews, their extended families, and host of loving friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers Jim, Bob, and George.

Dot had a deep love for her family and friends. She had a variety of interests including College Football and Basketball, the Baltimore Orioles, music, theater, and traveling. She had a deep and abiding faith and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Frederick Maryland. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and ran the Religious Articles Store at St. John’s for many years.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Catholic Daughters of St. John’s in Frederick Maryland or Hospice of Frederick County.

A celebration of Mary's life journey will take place at 11AM on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 116 E. Second Street in Frederick, MD. Father Kevin Farmer will be the celebrant.

Interment will be private.
