Mary Agnes Walter

Mrs. Mary Agnes Walter, 75 of Emmitsburg, MD., died Saturday, January 9, 2010 at the Gettysburg Hospital. She was the wife of John H. Walter.

Born May 27, 1934 in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late August E. And Alice Holzbach Bucker.

Mrs. Walter was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church where she was a Eucharist minister to the sick. She was a past president of PTO at Mother Seton School and a former president of St. Joseph's College Alumni. Mary Agnes retired, after many years, as a secretary at the National Fire Academy.

In addition to her husband she is survived by four children John D. Walter of Emmitsburg, Susan M. Walter of CA, Gregory S. Walter of Fairfield, PA and Mark D. Walter of Emmitsburg, five grandchildren Marie, Karen, Christina, Julia and Jackie, one great grandson, six siblings A. Edward Bucker, Joseph Bucker, Michael Bucker all of Richmond, VA, Charles Vincent Bucker of Louisville, KY, Thomas Bucker of Virginia Beach, VA and Alice Ross of Lexington, VA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by a son Thomas X. Walter.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main Street, Thurmont on Tuesday, January 12, from 2 -4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 13, at 11:00 a.m. From St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 100 N. Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg.with Father Vincent O'Malley as Celebrant.
Interment will be private.
