Mrs. Mary Buthair Willis, 86, of Frederick, MD passed away Monday, November 24, 2014 at the College View Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Meade M. (Pop) Willis for 67 years.
Born February 21, 1928 in Abingdon, VA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alay Josephine Perry McCracken.
Mary was a school teacher, she also worked for Grand Union for 12 years as their bookkeeper and prior to her retirement worked as a secretary for Willis Trucking Co. Mary loved to shop. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed raising her two great- grandchildren.
She is survived by her children James William "Billy" Willis and fiancé Ellie of Frederick, Joanne Swacker of Hawaii; sister Annie Fitzgerald of Gaithersburg, MD; grandchildren Leesa Stein and Steven Swacker and Great-granddaughter Kari Ann Stein.
She is preceded in death by her great- grandson Robbie Stein.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, on Monday, December 1, 2014 from 6-8PM where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 10AM. Rev. Tim May will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville.
