Mary Louise Wilcom, 77, of Ijamsville, Maryland, passed from this life suddenly on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. She was the wife of Donald Lee Wilcom for 55 years.
Born on October 25, 1939, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Charles Burrier and Mabel Wright Burrier.
Mary Louise graduated from Walkersville High School in 1957 and continued her studies at the Maryland Medical Secretarial School. She was actively involved in her community throughout her lifetime including co-chair of the Maryland Dairy Princess Committee and a member of St. John's Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed baking, gardening, flowers and the company of her family and friends, watching Terps basketball and cheering for her grandchildren's sport teams. She will be missed by many close lifelong friends including Libby (Haller) Henley and cousin, Norma Jane (Best) Akers.
She is survived by, husband, Donald Wilcom, son, Daniel Wilcom and his wife Jane, grandchildren, Brett and Maggie Wilcom, sister, Betty Pue and her husband Michael, sister-in-law, Ruth Weast and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Gregory Lee.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Mary Louise's life journey will take place at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road Ijamsville, MD 21754 on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 10:00 am. Father Michael Jendrek will officiate. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
