Mrs. Mary Buza Wahl, 90, of Middletown died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. Twice married, she was predeceased by her first husband, Daniel Buza, in 1981 and her second husband, Walter "Pat" Wahl, in 2001.
Born April 4, 1924 in Shamokin, PA, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Veronica Jezioskie Rocuskie.
Mary was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of Catholic Daughters, Middletown Senior Citizens, Mah-Jonge Club and Holy Family Catholic Community, where she loved playing senior dominos.
Additionally she loved casinos and was always a lucky winner. Mary enjoyed playing Bingo and was a member of the FSK Post 11 American Legion and the Frederick Elks Lodge #684.
She is survived by three daughters, Kitty Buza Hyssong and husband, John, of Middletown; Jane Buza Menker and husband, David, of Ellicott City; and Nancy Buza Herbert and husband, Michael, of Las Vegas; step-son, Michael Wahl and wife, Marilyn, of Williamsburg, VA; five grandchidren, Danielle Menker, David Menker, Kathryn Herbert, Michael Herbert, and Stephanie Buza Howell; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Wahl and Stefanie Wahl-Mustian and a great-grandchild, Hadley Howell.
Mary will be remembered and missed by her faithful Border Collie, Sam.
She was predeceased by her son, Eric Buza; three brothers, John, Joseph and Albert Rocuskie; and two sisters, Gertrude Laban and Kathryn Davis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2014 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 29 from Holy Family Catholic Community, 7321 Burkittsville Road, Middletown. Officiating will be the Rev. Msgr. Robert J. Jaskot.
Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
