Mary Slark

Mrs. Mary Ellen Slark, 87, died peacefully in her sleep on Monday, January 18, 2016 while undergoing rehabilitation at the Glade Valley Nursing Facility. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, WWII veteran Ora “Lucky” Slark.

She met and married Lucky in her home town of Georgetown, Washington DC. They began their family, and lived in Wheaton, MD for 35 years. They relocated to Walkersville MD where they have resided for the past 30 years.

She is survived by her six children Christine Choloski, Laura Klocko, Linda Bueso, Anthony Klocko, Mark Hevener and Kelly Hevener. She is also survived by her grandchildren Danny and Melanie Snap, Veronica Henry, Tony Bueso, Ashleigh Klocko, Anthony Klocko II , Damon Oberdorf, Lisa and Mark Hevener and Nick and Mallory Hevener. She has numerous great grandchildren and is beloved “Aunt Mary” to many more.

She was a homemaker, a loving wife and a loving mother. She enjoyed country and western music, big band music, dancing, and family gatherings and was a bingo enthusiast.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Ave., Walkersville on Monday, January 25th from 2-4 and 6-8pm. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 26th at 11:00am with Rev. Tim May officiating.

Interment will be in Andrew Chapel Cemetery, Vienna, Virginia.
