Mary Schenke
March 10, 1927 — July 8, 2012
Mary Moran Schenke, age 85, a resident of Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick,
MD, died on July 8,2012, from complications of heart disease. She had diabetes for 62
years.
Born in Syracuse, NY, Mary grew up in Bethesda-Chevy Chase, MD, graduating from
B-CC High School in 1945, and from the University of Maryland in 1949. She was a
member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
Mary married her high-school sweetheart, Bill Schenke, in 1950. From 1970-1974 she
was assistant to the manager of Blair House in Washington DC, the President's Guest
House. Mary and Bill moved to Atlanta in 1974 and returned to Maryland in 1993. She
was a volunteer at the C. Burr Artz Library in Frederick for 10 years.
Predeceased by 2 infants, Mary Louise and Edward Moran, Mary is survived by her
husband of 62 years, Bill Schenke, her daughter Jeanne Warth (Peter), three grandsons,
Andrew, Alex and Eric, her brother Richard P. Moran (Susan), and many nieces and
nephews.
