Mrs. Mary Platt, 84, of Frederick, died on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Somerford Assisted Living in Frederick. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Platt who died in 2004.
Born on May 26, 1925, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Fidelio and Ines Perera Santos. Mrs. Platt worked as an associate buyer for JC Penny. She was an avid reader, enjoyed all types of needlework and as the only spanish speaking member of her community, accompanied many of her neighbors to various appointments to translate.
Surviving are a son, Edward Platt and wife Maryann of Lady Lake, FL; 4 grandchildren: Colleen Rourk and husband Jason of Walkersville, Dawn Platt and friend Nicholas Larrabee of Lady Lakes, FL, Victoria Platt and Megan Platt both of Altamonte Springs, FL; 6 great grandchildren Midori Rourk, Carina Rourk, Amelia Rourk, Anthony Genouese, Layla Larrabee and Tyana Williams.
Local arrangements are by Stauffer Funeral Home, Frederick.

Services: Burial will take place on Wednesday, April 14th, in New Prospect Cemetery in Pine Bush, New York.
