Mary Parker

Mary Magdalena Parker (nee Leon), 95, of Mount Airy, died Friday, March 12, 2021, at Carroll Hospital in Westminster.

Born July 22, 1925, in San Diego, California, she was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Parker who passed in 1977.  She raised four children while traveling the globe as the wife of an Air Force serviceman.  She also enjoyed a successful career as an administrative liaison with Top Secret clearance supporting the G12 Section at the Naval Security Station, in Washington, D.C.

She enjoyed spending time with and doting on her family.

She is survived by her children, Deanna D’Andrea, Robert Parker, his wife Sandy, John Parker, his wife Peggy, and Marlene Gheen. Grandmother to Michelle D’Ascenzo, her husband Mark, Lisa Legier, her husband Steve, Denise Mathis, her husband Dale, Mike D’Andrea, his wife Laura, Kevin & Brian Tyser, Adam Parker, his wife Kristen, Amanda Patten, James Gheen his wife Kaitlyn, and Mary Gheen. Great-grandchildren Danielle & Gregory D’Ascenzo, Hannah Upham, her husband Tyler, Allyson Vaughan, her husband Matthew, Rebecca Berry, her husband Jamie, Christina Mathis, Michael & Ashley D’Andrea, Brooke & Walker Gheen, Taylor & Luke Patten.  Great-great grandchildren Mason & Ava Vaughn, Charlotte, Isabella & Juliana Berry and Brooklyn, Grayson, and Clarence Mathis.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence, great-grandson Zachary “Zac” Weiland, and her son-in-law Roger D’Andrea.

Private service and internment.  In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to the Washington DC VA Medical Center’s Fisher House.
