Mrs. Mary Ann McCracken, 77, of Harrisonburg, VA, passed away on March 15, 2016, peacefully with her family by her side.

Born on October 7, 1938, in Saltville, VA she was the daughter of the late John Tate and Elva Lorraine Prater Littrell. Mary was a graduate of Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville. She married James McCracken and they were blessed with five children, they divorced and later she met and became the life long loving companion of James Cubbage. A cashier, she went to work Kroger Grocery Store, next Co-op Grocery and retired from Giant Foods after more than 30 years service. Mary enjoyed country music, shopping and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her children: Laretta Wells and husband James of Kearneysville, Darleen McCracken of Kearneysville, James McCracken and wife Kathy of Harpers Ferry, Donald McCracken and wife Barbara of Harper Ferry and Pattie Ripa and husband Richard of Harpers Ferry; 15 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren with one on the way; a sister, Phyllis Lowe of Martinsburg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and her loving pet and body guard, Lacy.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Grover "Buddy" Littrell, Johnny Littrell and Thomas Tate Littrell; three sisters: Nell Day, Dorothy Brewer and Martha Geisbert.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM on Friday, March 18, and from 9-10 AM on Saturday, March 19, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick where services will be held on Saturday, March 19, beginning at 10:00 AM.

Interment will take place in Laytonsville Cemetery with James Wells, Jr, Eddie Davis, Adam McCracken, Steven Abell, Greg McElroy and Justin Hodges serving as pallbearers and James McCracken, Jr, Donald McCracken and Bobby Lowe will be honorary pallbearers.
