Mary Major

Mary Huzar Major, 97 of Frederick, MD, formerly of Newark NJ & Holiday, FL died suddenly at FMH on Wed Aug 26, 2015. Born Mary Jacobs on May 10, 1918 in Roda, VA and lived in Himlerville, KY as a young girl; moved to NJ and then retired in FL. Recently she lived with her daughter Nancy & son-in-law Thom for the past 9 years.

She is predeceased by husband of 31 years, Michael Huzar; second husband Matthew Major also 31 years; son Michael (March 2015), as well as 4 brothers and 2 sisters all of NJ.

She was a loving mother to Michael & Anna Huzar of Little Egg Harbor NJ, Richard & Mary Ann Huzar of Manahawkin NJ, and Nancy & Thom Clemens of Frederick MD. She was a devoted grandmother to Ricky Huzar & wife Antonella, Deborah, Dolores, Craig & Brian Huzar all of NJ; and Amy Clemens Severn & husband Jeremy of Middletown MD.  She is loved by great-granddaughters Michelle, Isabella & Claudia Huzar of NJ; and great-grandsons Chase, Jayden & Maddox of Middletown MD. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Mary worked for Prudential in NJ and for 20 years as a jewelry solderer at Grassman & Blake in Springfield NJ, assembling pieces for high end stores like Tiffany. She enjoyed playing bingo and passing the time with lottery scratch-offs. She never missed saying her daily rosary, praying for family and friend’s .She will be missed dearly for her generous, warm and loving heart. Everyone knew her for her beautiful smile and kind words.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick from 2 -4 pm on Friday August 28.
