Mary-Lou Barger, 60, of Frederick, MD passed away Sunday, January 29, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Dennis Barger.
Born August 20, 1956 in Seattle and raised in Eastern Washington and Montana she was the daughter of Mary Broderson of Montana and the late Luck Mason.
Mary-Lou was a graduate of Puget Sound Technical Institute, earning her degree as a Dental Assistant. Most importantly, Mary-Lou loved being a mom and couldn't imagine doing anything else She enjoyed playing with the kids in the yard when they were little, summer days at the swimming pool, volunteering at Spring Ridge Elementary as a teacher's aide, girl scout leader, dance and karate classes, basketball camps, softball, summer camping and winter ski trips to Deep Creek Lake. Her family was the center of her universe. She also loved neighborhood parties with her friends in Spring Ridge. Bunco group, Southern Living parties, jewelry parties, progressive dinners during the holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, retirements, etc. There wasn't any given situation that couldn't be turned into a neighborhood party.
Mary-Lou took great satisfaction in turning her husband's monthly poker night into something out of a Martha Stewart episode, proving you can never have too much crab dip or too many candles at a poker game. She was an avid adopter of all stray cats, and holds a special place in her heart for her beloved barn cat Chuck.
In addition to her husband and mother she is survived by her children, son, Talbot and daughter Tahlullah; brothers Ted Mason, Tom Mason and Kip Higdon and sisters Nancy Scates and Lisa Jenkins.
Services and interment will be private.
