Mary Kathryn Lee was born on September 9, 1947 in Frederick, Maryland to the late Howard E. Lee, Sr., and Erma C. Lee.
Mary grew up in Sunnyside and Point of Rocks, Maryland until the family relocated to Frederick, MD in 1971. She worked as a caregiver for various families throughout the years.
Mary was educated in the Frederick County Maryland public schools and was a member of the Frederick High School graduating class of 1965.
She deeply appreciated studying the Bible, and after dedicating her life to serve Jehovah, signified this by baptism on December 06, 1961, at 14 years old. She enjoyed pioneering whenever her circumstances would allow and experienced joy as she took time to serve where the need was great in Lumberton, North Carolina, sharing her faith and the Bible promises she held dear. Mary had been in several congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses in the Frederick area, her last one being Glade Valley. The warmth and support from her loving association of friends in these congregations was the source of Mary’s joy and she expressed often her honor to have a rich spiritual family heritage.
Mary was always someone who found joy in every project, hobby, and endeavor. Her love of plants, and extensive knowledge of their care was evident in her home garden. Mary also enjoyed sewing, and never met a recipe she would not enthusiastically try. She was also very proficient at American Sign Language and used it in her communicating with that community.
She is survived by cherished family members; her mother, Erma C. Lee; five brothers, Howard E. Lee, Jr., Gary O. Lee (Carolyn), Phillip A. Lee Sr. (Freda), Donald E. Lee and William H. Lee; nine nephews, Phillip Lee, Jr. (Roshon), Jason Lee (April), Howard Lee, III (Tia), Kyle Lee, Gary Lee (Cherie), James Lee (Hazel), Aaron Lee (Jillian), John Mark Lee (Angela), Michael Lee; six nieces, Missy Lee, Kimberly Lawson (James), Lisa Alexander (Donald), Melissa Dawson (Marvin), Desiree Lee and Kara Brannon (Jullien), along with many great nieces and nephews.
