Mary J. Christopher Kimons, age 89, of Hunter Hill Dr., Hagerstown, and formerly of Reno, Nev., died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at her home.
Born Jan. 27, 1919 in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia Fisher Christopher.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Kimons.
She had managed various retail apparel stores for 30 years.
She had been a member of Senior Volunteer Services in Redondo Beach, Calif., and Eagles Auxiliary in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, and a volunteer at Robinwood Cancer Center in Hagerstown.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol K. Miller of Hagerstown and Deborah H. Rossiter of Barrington, NJ; one son, Robert G. Kimons of Yuma, Ariz., six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, John Christopher, Christopher Christopher and James Christopher.
A private memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no viewing or visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
