Mrs. Mary E. Jack, 68, of Woodsboro, MD., passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long battle with ovarian cancer.
Born January 25, 1944 in Washington, D. C., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Mabel Shumaker Durbin.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and taught Sunday School there for many years.. She retired after 44 years of service from the Department of Energy. After retirement Mary enjoyed extensive travel, crafting, and antiquing. She was a very devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband Jack J. Jack, her son Jeremy Jack and wife Melinda of Lacey, WA and daughter Krista Jack and Charles Walnoha of Canonsburg, PA, granddaughter Riley Walnoha, brothers Elmer Durbin and wife Terry of NC and Robert Durbin of CA.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 104 E. Main St., Thurmont, MD on Friday, August 3, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 4, at 10:00 am from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Thurmont, MD.
Interment Parklawn Cemetery, Rockville.
