Mary Hutton

October 16, 1918 — July 30, 2012

Mrs. Mary C. Hutton, 93, of Frederick, MD (formerly of Tilghman Island), passed away Monday, July 30, at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the wife of the late William H. Hutton.

Born October 16, 1918 she was the daughter of the late William S and Alice L. Cowan Cook.

Mrs. Hutton  was a member of the Tilghman United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Woman’s Auxiliary Tilghman Island Volunteer Fire Department, and the Sewing Club.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, quilting and shopping.  Mary was always known for her famous “crabcakes”.

She is survived by  her daughter Sandra Ayres and husband Carter of Knoxville and step-son Richard Hutton and wife Patricia of Summersville, SC, her grandchildren Deborah Ayres-Hall, Donna Rhodes and husband  Joe all of Frederick, Timothy Hutton of AZ and Jonathan Hutton of DE, her great grandchildren Joshua Powell and wife Jessica, Zachary Powell and wife Tara, Ashleigh Powell and fiance  Albert Lowe, Brent Rhodes and fiancé Laura Koontz, her great-great grandchildren Mackenzie Lowe, Brayden Trupe, Brooke Powell, Sarah Hutton, Dominic Rhodes, Brady Powell, Julius Rhodes and Braylen Lowe.
She was preceded in death by her brother Hamilton Cooke.

Services and interment will be private.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Citizens Care and Rehab Center and also Hospice of Frederick County for the care they gave to  Mary.
