Mary Elizabeth Harris, 98, of Knoxville, MD, died Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Washington County Hospital.
Born December 9, 1908 in Yarrowsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late John William and Martha Elizabeth Holder Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Harris, in 1942.
She was a homemaker and was employed by Stauffer Hospital in Brunswick, MD as a nurses aide.
She was a member of Brownsville Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by two sisters, Anna Sullivan, with whom she resided and Idell Holder of Boonsboro; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Charles E. Harris; and six brothers, Claggett Thompson, Orville Thompson, Claude Thompson, Tilghman Thompson, Abner Thompson and Charles Thompson.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 17 at Brownsville Church of the Brethren. The Rev. Alan Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Old Brownsville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bast Funeral Home in Boonsboro.
