Mrs. Mary Ann Belensky Guthrie, 86, of Parma Heights, OH, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Belensky.
She was the wife of the late Willie K Guthrie, who preceded her in death in 1997.
After graduating high school, she went to work during WWII at the Pentagon. She later worked for Barth Industries in Cleveland Ohio. Mary Ann enjoyed watching baseball, football, and soap operas.
She is survived by nephews, Lloyd Hill (Shelly) of Middletown, MD, and their sons Eddie and Joey (her godsons whom she thought of like grandchildren); Christopher Shema of Terre Haute IN; and Michael Shema of Las Vegas, NV; and niece, Stephanie Shema of Ft. Washington, MD. Also surviving are step-daughters, Marie Wray of North Olmstead, OH and Karen Berendsen of Middleburg Heights, OH., and their children Laurie Howe (Kevin), Michael Wray (Lisa), Scott Berendsen (Sarah), Jeffrey Berendsen (Karen), and Kenna Kelso (Scott); and great-grandchildren, Erica Wray, Leah & Kyle Howe, Paige & Tyler Berendsen, and Drake & Kade Kelso.
She also will be remembered by special friend, John (Jack) Hischak.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Irene E. Hill; brothers, Michael J. Belensky and Francis Shema; and step-grandson, David Wray.
Visitation will be held at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick MD from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 with funeral services beginning at 11 am. Msgr. Robert J. Jaskot will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton, PA.
