Mary Gregg

Mrs. Mary E. Gregg, 91, of Taneytown, died Saturday, November 16, 2013 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Willie E. Gregg, who predeceased her on Jan. 13, 1977.

Born July 1, 1922 in Adamstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles Rutherford Hawes and Rosa Belle Riley Hawes.

Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family. She also enjoyed reading the paper, and working on puzzles and word games. In younger years, she was an avid gardener.

She is survived by daughters, Frances V. Rice of Woodsboro, Delores I. Printz of Thurmont, and Mary B. Gregg of Gerrardstown, W.Va.; sons, Stanley W. Gregg of Taneytown, Leon R. Gregg of Taneytown, James D. Gregg of Frederick, and Donald A. Gregg of Taneytown; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Ellen DiPaolo, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers, Paul T. Hawes, Joseph A. Hawes, Charles H. Hawes, and George W. Hawes; and sisters, Mabel I. Burdette and Helen V. Staub.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
