MISS MARY CLAIRE DALY
Passed away peacefully on Thursday April 23, 2015 at Glade Valley Center.
Born in Washington, D.C. July 19, 1922 and raised in Bethesda, she was the oldest of seven children born to Leslie A. and Elsie N. Daly.
Mary Claire worked in various agencies of the Federal Government until retiring from the Army Map Service.
She is survived by siblings F. Hope Ridgway (Jack), of Erie, PA, C. Richard Daly (Norma), and John J. Daly (Jeanne) of Selbyville, DE and sister-in-law, Sonja Daly (Leslie) Reidsville, NC. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie A. Daly, Jr., Francis X. Daly (Cathy) and Philip N. Daly (Fran). In addition, over twenty-four nieces and nephews will miss Claire’s love and hospitality, especially her devoted niece and caregiver, Mary K.Crum of Frederick, MD.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, Monday April 27 from 7-9:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, April 28, at 10:00 am. Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 7500 Pearl Street, Bethesda, MD. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 am until Mass time. Interment Parklawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Religious Coalition, 27 De Grange St., Frederick, MD 21701.
