Mrs. Mary Lou Curtis, 80 of Frederick, MD passed away on Wednesday, November 20th, 2013 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Frank Albert Curtis, Jr.
Born October 6, 1933 in Wytheville, VA she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Ida Jones.
She retired from the Montgomery County Public School System where she worked in the cafeteria. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Frederick.
She enjoyed playing BINGO and volunteering with the Red Cross.
She is survived by her three children, Frank Albert Curtis, III and wife Bonnie of Las Vegas, NV, Greta Lou Barclay and good friend Charles Dobbins of Libertytown and Marvin S. Curtis and long-time companion Jennifer Smith of Frederick; five grandchildren, John Wagner, III and wife Amy, Leaora Wagner, Loretta Zimmerman and husband Joshua, and Stephanie Curtis, and Zane Womack;great grandchildren, Rebecca Wojtaszek, TJ Wojtaszek and Hayden Zimmerman and a brother Samuel E. Jones, Jr. and wife Fran. She is also survived by sister-in-law Joyus Bisacky and husband Frank as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Peterson, Lois Campbell, Catherine Kennett and Jane Marlyn Lohr.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Sunday, November 24th from 6-9PM and from 1:00-2:00pm on November 25th prior to the funeral service at 2:00PM. Services will be officiated by Pastor Larry Eubanks.
Interment will be in Linganore Cemetery.
