Mary Davis

Mary Ann McDonough Davis, 80, of Boonsboro, formerly of Mt. Airy, died Monday, July 16, 2018.  She passed away peacefully at home with family by her side.  She was the wife for 63 years to Ross Davis.  Born on November 28, 1937 in Mt. Airy, she was the daughter of the late Luther and Daisy McDonough.

Mrs. Davis was a school bus driver for many years and worked in the school cafeteria.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  In addition to her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by 3 children: Cindy and Randy Sink of Knoxville, MD, Patti and Mike Howard of Winchester, VA and John and Diane Davis of Union Bridge, MD; grandchildren: Jason and April Sink, Jeff Sink and Amber; Julie Sink and Jimmy, Adam Axline and Stacie, Kevin Davis and Amanda Davis.  She will also be missed by her great-grandchildren: Mason, Brayden and Caroline as well as her sister, Betty Rhinecker of Mt. Airy.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall McDonough and Kenneth McDonough.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Stauffer Funeral Home, 8 E. Ridgeville Boulevard, Mt. Airy.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Interment will be in Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery, Mt. Airy.
