Marvin P. Stouffer, 84, of Boonsboro, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, September 21, 2009 at  Broadmore Senior Living in Hagerstown, Maryland.


Born on January 23, 1925, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lottie (Kinsey) Stouffer.  His wife of 52 years, Belva Martha (Summers) Stouffer, died on March 29, 2004.


Mr. Stouffer retired in 1986 from Hall's Transit after 21 years of employment.  More recently he had worked at the Black Rock Golf Course in Hagerstown, Maryland.


Marvin was a member of the Benevola United Methodist Church near Boonsboro, Maryland.


He is survived by two daughters, Dolores Yvonne Slattery and husband Jerome Jr. of Keedysville, Maryland and Darlene Marie Brunner and husband Warren of Frederick, Maryland; two sons, Gale Eugene Stouffer and wife Wanda of Hagerstown, Maryland and Gary Lynn Stouffer of Smithsburg, Maryland; one brother, Fayette Stouffer of Mt. Lena, Maryland; one sister, Vivian Van Voorhis of Hagerstown, Maryland; one granddaughter, Audra Lynn Perks and husband Robert of Charlestown, West Virginia; one step grandson, Bradley Alan Taylor of Hagerstown, Maryland; one great grandson Adrian Robert Perks; and one great granddaughter Xaira Lynn Perks.


Mr. Stouffer was preceded in death his by sister Mildred Hogan and his three brothers, Elvin E., Vernon L. and Charles O. Stouffer.


Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2009, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland.  Rev. John H. Dean and Rev. Clark D. Carr will officiate.  Burial will be in Benevola United Methodist Church Cemetery.


Friends are invited to visit at the Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 where the family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m.
