Marvin Sewell

Marvin Jerome Sewell, age 50, of Jefferson, MD, suddenly passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at home. He was born on June 2, 1971, in Frederick, MD to Dennis L. Sewell Jr. and the late Lana E. P. Sewell. He graduated from Brunswick High School, class of 1989. He worked as a HVAC contractor for many years, most recently with ABC General and Mechanical Services.

Marvin enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved music and in 1993 he and a friend started a band called “White Rabbit”. He also enjoyed comic books, Marvels, video games and had a huge passion for sports. Although his favorite teams were Baltimore Ravens, Baltimore Orioles and Dallas Cowboys, he loved all sports and started a podcast on Facebook called “MJS Network” for his fellow sports fans to enjoy his passion as well.

Marvin was a gentle giant, standing tall at 6'5'', He was a giant man with a big laugh and a heart that was even bigger. If you met him, you instantly had a friend for life. He loved to laugh, make jokes and help others, regardless of what they needed. He was always there for others and made sure to check on them often.

Marvin is survived by his father, Dennis L. Sewell Jr. and wife Vera Sewell of Cascade, MD, his siblings, Marlene Sewell, Darrell Wilson, Dennis Sewell III (Denny), Ralph Wilson, Rick Wilson, Elmer Sewell and Tyson Sewell. He is also survived by 22 nieces and nephews, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and great nephews. He had a close relationship with his niece Tina Sewell and nephew Michael Sewell and their children.

He is preceded in death by his mother Lana E. P. Sewell, paternal grandparents Dennis Sr. and Emmanora Sewell, his maternal grandparents Lester and Adrian Lyles and his great nephew Ja'Heart Foreman.

A celebration of Marvin's life will be held on Friday, January 07, 2022, at 1:00 pm. Services will be at Stauffer Funeral Homes in Thurmont, MD (104 E. Main Street Thurmont, MD 21788.)
