Marvin Mock

Mr. Marvin Joseph Mock, 74 of Frederick died on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Sylvia Jean Brightwell Mock, his wife of 51 years.

Born February 15, 1937 in Point of Rocks, MD he was the son of the late Armistead and Mary Ellen Mock.

Marvin served in the US Army and worked in construction for many years, later retiring from Frederick Heights Apartments where he worked in the maintenance department.

He was an avid collector of antiques and clocks. He also enjoyed his 1955 Chevy convertible. He enjoyed going to auctions, yard sales, horse races and fishing.

Marvin will be me mostly remembered and recognized for his sense of humor and the fact that he never met a stranger.

In addition to his loving wife, Sylvia he is survived by his four daughters, Michelle Cooper and husband David of Hedgesville, WV, Rochelle Price and husband Richard of Rising Sun, Maryland, Kimberly Creamer and husband Roy of Hagerstown, MD and Janine Albano and husband John of Pensacola, FL, seven grandchildren, April, Crystal, Heather, Ritchie, Kevin, Nicole and Briana, five great grandchildren, Brittany, Erykah, Mackenzie, Chase and Liam, a brother, James Mock and wife Linda, a sister, Beatrice Lamm and husband Ralph, mother-in-law, Hilda Brightwell, sister-in-law, Beverly Brightwell. He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Repass.

The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick on Thursday, December 1st from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 11:00am at Maranatha Community Church of God, 123 Byte Drive, Frederick, MD with Rev. Dr. Jerry Price officiating.
