Marvin Lee Hoy

Marvin Hoy, 94, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Edenton Retirement Community. Twice married he was predeceased by his first wife Gwendolyn Hoy in 2006 and his second wife Sadie Hoy.

Born on June 8, 1930, in Taneytown, MD, he was the son of the late James L. Hoy and Viola B (Bowman) Hoy.

He was a 1947 graduate of Frederick High School.

Marvin held several occupations over the years as a farmer, in sales and management, and general contracting in Florida, retiring in 1987.

After living in Florida for several years, he returned to Frederick in 2014.

He is survived by his son, Larry A. Hoy; granddaughter, Jessica Hartman; and niece, Andrea Wilson, 

He was predeceased by his siblings, J. Wesley Hoy, Calvin C. Hoy, and Martha Ann Reid.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 15 at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, with a funeral service to begin at 11.

Interment will be private.
