Marvin Holder

Marvin Eugene Holder, 67, of Keedysville, Maryland, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016, at his home with his family by his side.

Born on November 14, 1948, he was the son of the late David D. and Mary V.(Thomas) Holder.

He graduated in 1966 from Boonsboro High School. He started his career at the Atomic Energy Commission in 1966 and retired from the Department of Energy in 2002. Marvin served in the Navy Reserves and was stationed in Vietnam in 1970-1971. In his retirement, he enjoyed home remodeling projects with Justin, building a fish pond with Aaron, taking college tours with Sara and vacationing and going to the park with his two special granddaughters.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Patsy, his sons Justin (and Deena), Aaron (and Ann), and his daughter, Sara (and Cory), his granddaughters Adrienne and Maura, his brothers Thomas Holder (and Mary), John Holder (and Barbara), his sisters Laurel Haugh (and Gary) and Linda Beard (and Donnie), and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, September 26, 2016, at the Bast-Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, Maryland. The Rev. John D. Sumpter will officiate. Final resting place ceremonies will follow at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro, Maryland.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the funeral home.
