Marvin Harmon

December 19, 1940 — December 18, 2020

Marvin Wayne Harmon passed away at his home in Yarrowsburg. MD, where he lived most of his life and was raised by his grandparents. Jacob & Etta Harmon.  He was preceded by his parents Lawrence Marvin Harmon and Eva Tull.  Marvin leaves behind his wife of 37 years. Kimberly, two sons. Dwayne Marvin Harmon and wife Kendra of Keedysville. MD, Lawrence (Larry) Robert Harmon and wife Heidi of Yarrowsburg. Md. Five grandchildren,  Dustin. Brandon, Destiny Coy and husband Charlie,  Marie and finance Casey Strunk of North Carolina and Blake Harmon at home. One great grandson. Lawson Wayne Coy, 2 half brothers Steve & Chris, 4 half sisters Cindy, Sharon, Dawn, Maxine & Deborah, nieces and nephews.
Marvin graduated from Boonsboro High School in 1958 and attended a Technical School.  He was an Manufacturing Engineer for several Companies throughout his working career. In the last part of his career he was Owner & Broker of South Mountain Realty for over 25 years. He loved giving his clients the utmost professional service in the selling of their property or the buying of a new home and after overseeing the sale or purchase of his clients’ homes he gained many new friendships and remained friends with a many of them. Marvin was a member of the Brownsville Church of Brethren.  He was also a member of the Brunswick Masconic Lodge for 22 years and previously the Antietam Lodge in Keedysville and the Redmen in Williamsport, Md. Marvin loved the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends and just being surrounded by his family. During hunting season he just loved going up in the mountains and just sitting there watching nature and taking in the peace and tranquilness of the scenery.  Marvin to the family was referred to as “Gadget Man".  He was always buying unique gadgets that always was handy for some project or repair.  Marvin also leaves behind his faithful companion furry family member Otis.
There will be a private masconic service for the family at 1:30 pm and then a viewing for family and friends from 2 to 4pm on Saturday, December 26th at the Bast Stauffer Funeral Home, 7606 Old National Pike, Boonsboro, MD.
A celebration of his life will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Humane Society of Washington County and the Weimaraner Rescue.Org.
