Marvin J. Bennof, 72, of Woodbine, MD passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Kline Hospice in Mount Airy, MD. Born July 7, 1940 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Sylvia Gordon and Frank Krantz. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Anne O. Bennof; Brother-In-Law, Ernest O’Roark and wife Kathlene; Niece, Julie Spagnesi and husband Dan; Nephews Jason O’Roark and wife Jen and Jeremy O’Roark and wife Jessica; Aunt Mary Rachelson-Levy; Numerous Cousins. He is preceded in death by Step-Father Isreal Bennof and one brother, Charles Bennof; Also, special friends include Tony Perticari of Bethany Beach, DE, Jim Artz of Texas, and Paul Kunzeman whose patients allowed Marvin to enjoy golf despite his illness. He held memberships with the Mt. Airy Lions Club, the Maryland State Golfers Association as well various local golf courses. He was an avid golfer and pool player and enjoyed old movies. He was a fan of the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens. Family will receive friends on Sunday, May 19, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-9 PM at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A., 8 East Ridgeville Blvd., Mt. Airy, MD 21771. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 20, 2013, 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1200 St. Michael’s Road, Mt. Airy, MD. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marvin’s name to St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 1200 St. Michael’s Road, Mount Airy, MD 21771 and/or Kline Hospice House, 7000 Kimmel Road, Mt. Airy, MD 21771.
