Martha M. Trimmer, 88, of Mount Airy, MD, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 (which would have been her 60th wedding anniversary) at Dove Hospice House in Westminster, MD
Born on April 10, 1929, in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Urtella Sprainis.
She attended the Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick and Gallaudet Universtity, Washington D.C.
Martha worked for the Dept Defense in the Mapping Division and CR Daniels Inc. in Ellicott City.
An avid runner, she ran well in into her 80's and participated in numerous running events, including the National Senior Olympics. She was also a avid Baltimore Ravens, Orioles, and Maryland Terrapins fan. She cherished her traditional Lithuanian heritage including making Viryta "Vitatis" and Lithuanian cookies every Christmas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Glenn W. Trimmer,who passed in 2008, three brothers, and her step mother, Ida Sprainis.
She is survived by daughter's, Holly Buckley and her husband, Frank, Heather Bonney, and Heidi Trimmer; sisters, Urtella Coffey, Delores Olzewski, Leona Sprainis, Jeanette Latzo, and Dorothea Stubbs; brothers, John Sprainis and Andrew Sprainis; grandchildren, Marley Bonney, Maggie Buckley, Andrew Buckley, Annie Buckley, and Wade Bonney.
A funeral service will take place at 5:00pm, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Mt. Airy), 8 East Ridgeville, Mt. Airy, MD.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home two hours prior to the start of the service on Sunday, from 3-5pm. The burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, Inc. 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157.
