Mrs. Martha Louise Sigler Miller of Walkersville, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012. She was the wife of Charles F. Miller for 69 years.
Born April 2, 1921 in Bloomfield, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Luther and Caroline Fredericka Hemp Sigler.
Mrs. Miller was a crossing guard for ten years at the Walkersville Elementary School and secretary of School Facilities at the Board of Education of Frederick County. She was a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church in Frederick and later St. Paul’s in Walkersville.
She enjoyed crafts, needlework, quilting and oil painting and other art work.
Surviving are one daughter Marianne E. Rhodes of Las Vegas, NV and one son Fred C. Miller of Washington, D. C., two grandchildren Lindsay A. Rhodes and Gregory T. Rhodes. She was preceded in death by her brother Harry Paul Sigler and sister-in-law Catherine W. Sigler, and three half brothers, Paul, Louis and Frank Thomser and two brothers George and Joseph Miller. She was the last of her immediate family.
The family will receive friends at the Stauffer Funeral Home, 40 Fulton Avenue, Walkersville on Friday, April 6, from 9:00 am until service time at 10:00 am. The Rev. Mark L. Foucart will officiate.
