Martha Mathis

Martha Jane Hughes Mathis, 60, of Frederick, Maryland, passed from this life on Sunday, January 29, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 23, 1956, in Hanover, PA, she was the daughter of Velma Hughes and the late Alaska Hughes
Martha worked as a Environmental Services Director at Northhampton Manor Nursing Home for 16 years and Genesis Healthcare System for over 7 years.
She dedicated her life to her girls and enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family. She also loved spending time with her puppy, "Fayette" and kitty, "Tiaya".
She is survived by her mother, Velma Hughes, her daughters, Stacey and Sabrina Smith and Terry Kesselring; brother, Lonnie Hughes and his wife Helen; Sister, Barbara Yelton, Lifetime Companion, Steve Smith and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD.
A celebration of Martha's life journey will take place at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at Stauffer Funeral Homes, P.A. (Fred), 1621 Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, MD. Pastor Tim May will officiate. Interment will be at Boonsboro Cemetery in Boonsboro, MD.
