Martha Ecker

Martha Ecker, 60, passed away at home on Monday, May 11, 2015 after a long illness.  Martha lived in a group home operated by Community Living, Inc. and was supported by Hospice of Frederick County for the last months of her life.  She also attended the Retirement our Way (ROW) program at Community Living from the time she moved to Frederick until shortly before her death.  She is survived by a brother, and sister Catherine.

Martha was born in Frederick and was admitted to Rosewood Center in 1955 at the age of 2.  She moved to the Potomac Center in Hagerstown in 1990 where she lived until coming to Community Living in 2008.

Martha loved music and loved being outdoors when it was warm.  She enjoyed going for walks and being around people who knew her best.

In addition to her biological family, Martha had a second adopted family among the staff who cared for her and the people with whom she lived.  Those who knew her and cared for her are deeply saddened by her passing - she was a fragile soul who lived life to the best of her ability.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Living, Inc. 620B Research Court, Frederick MD 21703.
